Ninjas are one of the staples of Japanese culture. Originating in Feudal Japan, the Ninjas served as secret agents for powerful masters. Even though their methods were considered less than honorable, they were still widely used.
Their History is known to go back as far as the 12th century. They have a very rich history and have risen to be one of the most favorable genres in Entertainment Media. The world has fallen in love with Ninjas, and they have been adapted into all manner of shows, live-action or otherwise. In the case of anime, there is always some form of Ninjas when it comes to Action Anime.
Naruto is centered around ninjas. In Bleach, the 2nd Division of the Gotei 13, the stealth force is all Ninjas. Even in One Piece, ninjas are there in Wano Country. Ninjas are so versatile they can basically be mixed and matched with any genre, and it will still work. Ninjas are Known for being stealthy and using special techniques to confuse their targets.

There is not one thing about a Ninja that is not fascinating. However, much of the depiction of Ninjas we have seen on our screen is derived from folklore and not from actual documents. And so it should only be taken with a grain of salt. It may not be for everyone. Some of you might be fans of The Samurai, which is basically the polar opposite of a Ninja.
One of the reasons why Ninjas were considered honorable was they lacked an honor code like their fellow samurai. If you are looking for anime where the main character is a Ninja, then you have come to the right place. I have rather a list of 50 Anime that is what you are looking for. Fair Warning, there are minor spoilers ahead.
1. Naruto
How can one make a list of Anime about Ninjas and not mention the most famous Ninja Anime ever to exist? Naruto follows the life of Naruto Uzumaki in his struggle to become the next Hokage of Leaf Village. The story begins with the attack of the Nine-Tailed Beast, which we later know to be named Kurama.
Naruto’s father sacrifices his life to seal that beast inside Naruto’s body, changing his life forever. Since Naruto has such a dangerous beast inside of him, he grew feared by his peers and became a social outcast. Naruto used to spend a lot of him alone until he joined Team 7.
Team 7 consists of Sakura Harunoand Sasuke Uchiha and is led by Kakashi Hatake, one of the most experienced and fearsome ninjas in the leaf village. The story progresses as the trio does on missions together while simultaneously working on their individual goals.
As time goes by, Naruto learns to co-exist with Kurama as he starts to share his Chakra to help Naruto in battle. Making the duo a force to be reckoned with. However, he still has a long way to go and a lot more enemies to conquer before he becomes Hokage

2. Boruto: The Next Generation
Taking place several years after the events of Naruto, Boruto follows the exploits of Naruto Uzumaki’s son Boruto Uzumaki. Boruto feels uneasy as his father keeps prioritizing the village over his own flesh and blood. And he desperately wants to gain his father’s recognition.
The series’ antagonists are Otsutsuki Clan, who is looking for someone powerful enough to resurrect the divine tree from the home dimension. And they have set their sights on Naruto as he is the host of the 9-Tailed beast. They abducted Naruto and had to be reduced by Sasuke, Boruto, and the Other 4 Hokages.
However, during the battle, the Otsutsuki shifts their focus from Naruto to Boruto and places a Mark on him. Making Boruto a potential vessel for the one who placed the mark on him. In this case, it was Momoshiki Otutsuki. However, no one is aware that it has happened.
And they won’t until it’s too late. The story progresses as we learn more about the Otsutsuki and how they have been on the planet for ages. We learn of the group Kara, which is on the lookout for people with said marks. It is later revealed that Jigen, the leader of the group, is also under the influence of the Otsutsuki.

3. Ninja Cadets
Taking place in Feudal Japan, the story is about the rivalry between two Ninja clans that soon become bloody. The clans in question are the Byakuro and Kabusu. Their feud comes to a standstill when the Kabusu tries to kidnap their rival clan’s princess.
However, before it could happen, the princess was evacuated from the castle, thus saving her life. But the Kabusu never stopped looking for her. The princess, who was just an infant at the time of the attack, has grown up and become a ninja herself.
Six ninjas, including herself, are the last of the Byakuro Ninjas. But, in order to complete their training, they have to retrieve a scroll from the Byakuro Castle. Furthermore, the castle is now overrun by Kabusu Ninjas. The mission will be unlike anything they have faced before.
Kaoru, Hayashi, Yume, Matsuri, and Sakura head to their old castle to retrieve the scroll and finally prove their worth as Ninjas. Little did they know since that faithful day, the Kabusu had become even stronger, resorting to dark magic to augment their battle prowess.

4. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
The story follows the life of an Exiled Ninjitsu Master and his pet turtles. To say he did not foresee what was going to happen to him is an understatement. What happened to him changes his and his Turtle Buddys’ lives permanently.
While in New York, Hamato Yoshi comes across the alien race known as Kraang. His encounter left him and his pet turtles exposed to an unknown mutagen. This mutagen has the ability to alter organic matter at a fundamental level.
The mutagen causes Yoshi to assume the characteristics of a rat transforming him into a humanoid brown rat. All the while retaining his human intellect and skillset. At the same time, the Demon Slayer Manga: The Twelve Kizuki and Their Abilities Explained all gained human-like characteristics such as speech, intelligence, etc.
The story progresses as Yoshi and the gang move into the sewers away from prying eyes. Yoshi trains the turtles in the ways of a Ninja in an effort to help them hide from the humans as well as instill discipline in them. They use their skills to face the Alien Threat.

5. Basilisk: Kōga Ninpō Chō
The story is about the Heirs of two opposing clans who have fallen in love with each other. The only they want is for their union and for the bitter feud that has been going on for generations between their respective clans to end once and for all. Little did they know, Fate had other plans for them.
The Iga Tsubagakure Clan and Kouga Manjidani clans have been at each other’s throats for as long as anyone can remember. They were forced to keep their fighting aside as they were recruited into the service of Shogun Tokugawa Ieyasu. Even though the fighting stopped, the hostility remained.
Now that the Shogun is relinquishing his position to his son, a new war is brewing. Both his grandsons want to be next in line to be the Shogun and are forcing the people to take sides. Fearing an all-out Civil War, Ieyasu comes up with a solution to settle things once and for all.
The pact between the rival clans will be made void. Each clan is to provide 10 of their best warriors who will fight to the death. The clan that is successful in eliminating the other clan’s contestants will be hailed the champions, and the Grandson they represent will be the next in line.

6. Nintama Rantarō
The story is about Ninjitsu Academy, which is hidden deep within the treacherous mountainous areas of Japan. The show is centered around the students at this school and their comedic attempts in training to become ninjas. Even though they often fail even the simplest tasks, their hearts are in the right place.
Ninjutsu Gakuen is an elite Ninjitsu Academy home to some of History’s best and brightest Ninjas. Rantarō Inadera gains admission at this prestigious school and wants to become an elite Ninja. But things are not going the way Rantarō hoped they would.
Accompanying Rantarōare Kirimaru Settsuno and Shinbē f*ckutomi. Kirimaru is an orphan and comes from humble beginnings. He has been alone ever since his parents were killed when his village burned down. Since a young age, he has developed a habit of saving money obsessively.

His other friend Shinbē f*ckutomi is the complete opposite. The only thing he ever seems to do is wait for the next meal. He is kinda short and chubby, not exactly the great physique for a ninja. However, he is unnaturally strong and has a strong sense of smell.

7. The Dagger of Kamui
The story is about a young boy who lost both his Birth and Adoptive Parents, leaving him an Orphan. He is actively looking for the person responsible for these murders. Along the way, he meets a Buddhist Monk who takes pity on him and trains him in the ways of the ninja to help him on his quest.
Little did he know the Monk was the one who had been pulling the strings from the shadows all this time. Jiro, the protagonist, can never seem to catch a break. When his adoptive mother was killed, he was put to blame and was set to be crucified. He had to escape without even being able to say a final goodbye.
He meets a Buddhist monk who manipulates him into killing a man who supposedly killed his adoptive mother and sister. And later, he took him back to his temple and trained him to become a ruthless killer. Jiro leaves the temple looking for answers.
He wishes he hadn’t, as what he found changed his life completely. It was the Monk who was responsible for all his grievances. It was also revealed that the man Jiro killed earlier was his own father. It was all part of the Monk’s twisted plan for revenge.

8. Black Lion
The anime takes place in the 1500s, and the story is about one man’s quest for vengeance against the one who was responsible for the death of so many of his comrades. However, his enemy is not a traditional one. He is described to be something beyond human and considered immortal.
Nobunaga Oda is currently at war against all of Japan. If he succeeds, he will be one of the most ruthless men to conquer Japan in its History. And there will certainly be no end to the bloodshed. What’s bizarre is that Nobunaga seems to possess forces that are not of this world.
It is not known how he gained such powerful allies or why he is on this warpath. But one thing that is certain is that Nobunaga coming to power is the worst care scenario for everyone. Helping him in his agenda is Ginnai Doma, AKA the Ninja Killer.
Ginnai Doma is supposedly a fallen samurai reborn but as a machine making him infinitely for lethal. And Shishimaru of the Iga Ninja Clan might be the only person standing between Doma and Japan. Even though it may take multiple tries, Shishimura is not one to back down.

9. Ninja Scroll: The Series
The show acts as a direct continuation of the events from the 1993 Ninja Scroll Movie. In the movie, we see Kibagami Jubei fight against the Shogun of the Dark and his Demonic Henchmen Ninjas. He is accompanied by Kagero, a Kunoichi, and Dakuan, a Tokugawan Spy.
At the end of the film, Jubei goes his separate way with only Kagero’s headband as a reminder of his adventures. This time around, he finds himself in the middle of a war between two rival gangs. The Tokugawan Spy from the movie also makes an appearance in the series.
The clans in question are the Hiruko and Kimon. The Dragon Stone is currently in possession of the Hiruko clan. That was the case until a ninja from the same clan stole it. In the midst of an all-out war for the stone, the ninja asks Jubei to take the stone to the Priestess of Light.
The story progresses as Jubei takes it upon himself to deliver the stone to the Priestess of Light while being pursued by both Kimon and Hiruko Clam Members. As time goes by, the stone is split in two, and one half is stolen from him. However, Jubei is not one to admit defeat so easily.

The story is about a young girl who wants to be a Kunoichi. She had had this dream ever since she was saved by when she was just a child. This dream of hers has led her to Kasumi Kogen, home of Shinobi Gakuen, one of the best schools for learning the ways of the ninja.
Kasumi Kogen itself is home to alumni of Shinobi Gakuen. Himawari Hinata is transferred to Shinobi Gakuen to study under Ichikawa Raiso. She hopes that under Ichiikawa’s tutelage, she can become the best ninja she can be. On her first day there, she meets Hayato Marikoji.
Marikoji is a new teacher at the school. He sticks out like a sore thumb, ad he does not have any ninjutsu skills. He is merely there to teach students about Japanese Society. Due to this, he is often looked down upon by other teachers at the institution.

Even though he has no skills to help her reach her goal, Himawari seems to like him. Many a time, she has urged Marikoji to stay strong and not let the others get to him. She seems to be his biggest supporter. Himawari believes in him even though he himself fails to do so.

The Yagyu Jubei School and the Ryjoji School have been at each other’s throats for as long as anyone can remember. However, it all came to a head 300 years ago when Yagyu Jubei School’s Champion beat the Ryjoji School’s champion. However, before they can celebrate, he dies.
The injuries inflicted upon Yagyu Jubei Champion were simply too great. However, before he took his last breath, he informed Koinosuke that he should look for someone worthy to take his place. His exact words were, “Someone With Plump, Bouncy Bon Bons.”
The dying champion hands Koinosuke an eye patch. The eye patch holds within itself all the sword techniques one would need. And the person wearing the eye patch can access and exercise those techniques as long as he/she is wearing it. However, it cant be used by just anyone.
Koinosuke’s search finally comes to an end when he crosses paths with Jiyu Nanohana. Even though she rejects the eye patch at first, she dons it in a moment of emergency. It is revealed that the Ryjoji School has been plotting their revenge since their defeat, and only Jiyu can defeat them.

12. Senran Kagura
Based on the Video Game series of the same name, the story follows the life of 5 school girls who are secretly ninjas. The antagonist of the show is a rival school supposedly full of evil ninjas with nefarious intentions. The enemy school kids attack often and cause havoc in town.
Hibari, Asuka, Yagyu, Ikaruga, and Katsuragi may look like normal school students, but they share a secret. Apart from academic training, they are also getting training in the ways of the ninja. They are often sent on missions to keep the peace in their town.
A pack of delinquents appears to be causing trouble in town, and Kiriya, their mentor, asks the girls to take care of them. On the way, Asuka crosses paths with Homura, who is supposedly new in town and is looking for directions. Without thinking much of it, Asuka offers a helping hand.
Little did she know the person she was helping was actually their enemy. It isn’t until much later in the show the real identity of Homura is revealed. She is revealed to be a Dark Shinobi belonging to the Serpent Academy. The story progresses as the fight against the Snake Academy continues.

Even though it is a modern-day age, the presence of evil lurking in the shadows is still prominent. A group of ninjas is the first line of defense against the things that go bump in the night. Armed with knowledge and skills passed down from generation to generation, they are unstoppable.
Calling themselves Toukeshuu, these ninjas work in the dark to serve the light. An enemy only classifies as “Darkness” is their most prominent foe. If not for the ancient techniques of destroying these entities, Tokyo just might have fallen.
The animation style is not something you see in your typical anime. The show is completely in 2D. It’s basically a manga with voiceovers. It may not be to the liking of most. The episodes are all bite-sized, as in they are rarely more than 5 minutes long.

The anime has a dark theme to it, with some shots that look like it’s straight from a Horror Flick. But since the animation is lacking, the shots do not have that much of an effect. Certainly not as much as it was intended. It will truly is a unique experience.

14. The Ambition of Oda Nobuna
The story is about a high school student who finds himself transported into the Sengoku Period of Japan. He reemerged right in the middle of a battlefield and is about to be cut down by an assailant. But in the nick of time, he was saved by none 0ther than Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
But this action was not without consequence as Hideyoshi lost his life as a direct consequence of saving the high school kid. However, little did he know this change will have a ripple effect all throughout History. In this timeline, Nobunaga Oda is not the Great Unifier of Japan.
Instead of him, the person in power is Nobuna Oda. Nobuna was saved by the high schooler, which put Nobuna Oda forever in his debt. She hires him as his retainer. However, his claims of being from the future fell on deaf ears and only led people to question his Sanity.
The story progresses as Yoshiharu Sagara, the former High School kid, uses his knowledge of the future to his advantage. At the same time, steering history on the right path as veering from this path might have dire consequences in the future. All the while looking for a way to return to his timeline.

The Parasite Movie Ending Explained: What Happened To The Kim Family? and the Iga Shimoin Clan are rival ninja clans. The Koga Clan blames the head of the Iga Clan for the death of their leader. However, the death of the current head of the Iga Clan has forced them to shift their focus to his direct descendant.
Ittoki Sakuraba has no knowledge about his father’s secret. He doesn’t even know that ninja even exists. Imagine his surprise when he is pulled into a struggle he wants no part to be included in. It is revealed to him that Ninjas have always existed.
They just adapted their ways to match these modern times. The Koga clan uses Satomi Tsubaki, one of their female operatives, to lure Sakuraba into a secluded place. However, he was saved in the nick of time by his father’s loyal clansmen. Now Sakuraba must make a life-altering choice.

He can either live like he always did, but the Koga Clan can attack at any moment, and they might not be able to save him next time. Else, he can train to be a Ninja and take his rightful place as the head of the clan. Or he can go into hiding. Sakuraba chooses the second option.

Mainly because she shares a passion for Robotics, just like her father, her entire life is thrown into shambles when she returns home and finds her family under attack. The aggressor is her father’s ex-colleague, who has come to steal his father’s research.
In the end, her father is killed while she is badly hurt. However, she was saved by Kasumi, Oboro, and Madara, a trio of her father’s animal drones. Having lost everything, she moves into a small apartment, changes her name, and is currently lying low.
The story progresses as the daughter uses the drones to investigate further into those responsible for her father’s death. In the process, she finds a video message from her father giving her a gift for her Birthday. The gift is an advanced ninja suit with cybernetic implants, which she uses in her quest for vengeance.

17. Batman Ninja
We all know the classic Batman Story. Billionaire turned Vigilante, Gotham’s Protector, The Dark Knight. You also know the classic Batman villains. Joker and Demon Slayer Manga: The Twelve Kizuki and Their Abilities Explained, Penguin and Poison Ivy, Two-Face and Bane, etc. The movie explores the notion of Batman taking place in Feudal Japan.
In the Present Day, Batman is up against the Gorilla Grodd at the Arkham Asylum. Grodd’s Quake Engine goes off, sending Batman back in time to Feudal Japan. He doesn’t even get time to assess his situation as the samurai loyal to The Joker attacks him.
He comes across Catwoman, who fills him in on the current situation. The Villains deceived the Daimyo and secured positions as Feudal Lords all over Japan. But not all of them have the ability to defend against them. People who can see the Ayakashi are categorized as Ayakashi Mediums and Exorcists Ninjas. Mediums are humans who expells Haku. This Ayakashi considers people with this skill as divine entities.
The Exorcist Ninjas are those who protect humans and mediums alike from Malevolent Ayakashi. The story is about two childhood friends, Suzu Kanade and Matsuri Kazamaki, with the ability to see Ayakashi. One is a Medium, while the other is an Exorcist.

The story takes place in the all-women village of Kunoichi. All women of the village are forbidden from having any contact with men for reasons unknown. However, there is one girl who lets her curiosity get the best of her. But she must keep her extracurricular activities a secret.
Tsubaki is one of the best students at his school and the leader of Team Dog. Her team consists of 2 other Kunoichi, Sazanaka and Asagao. Tsubaki learns from them that Sazanka wants to find and battle a man to prove her worth. Turns out they have never seen a man.
Even though it’s forbidden, Tsubaki decides to venture out in hopes of seeing one in the flesh. However, she gets overwhelmed at the last moment and heads back to her village. However, she can’t help but think about how she almost interacted with men.
This obviously distracts her from her training. As the story progress, we learn the real reason why the villagers are forbidden from interacting with men. It is revealed the past, a lot of people kept falling in love and leaving the village. For the village’s sake, they perpetuated lies about men.

20. Ninja Resurrection
The events of the show take place in Tokugawa Era Japan. A period in Japan’s History where they ruthlessly persecuted the followers of Christ. The narrator speaks such a dark prophecy. The prophecy speaks about someone called Amakusa Shiro.
Amakusa Shiro is supposedly an Avatar of God. If anyone comes in between him and his destiny of becoming Christ, things will get significantly worse. If Amakusa Shiro fails to fulfill his destiny, he will be reborn as Satan. And will destroy the world.
We see a young Shiro miraculously survive an attempt for his life. He was shot by soldiers. However, the bullet hit a crucifix he was carrying and thus saving his life. At the same time, they could part shining light on Shiro. The crucifix also seems to be emanating light.
These events make the villagers proclaim Shiro as their Lord and Saviour. The story progresses as Shiro uses his newfound divine abilities to defend his people against those wishing to do Christians harm. Little did he know the enemies were plotting his end.

The story is about a young Ninja girl who swears her life to the man who saved her from drowning. The man was none other than Oda Nobunaga. Even though others refer to him as an empty-headed fool, he has not let it get the best of him. He has big dreams of unifying Japan.
He doesn’t plan to let anyone stand in the way of his goal. Little did he know the girl he saved from drowning would become one of his most trusted and loyal compatriots. Even though extremely skilled, Chidori is clumsy. She is much stronger than her male counterparts.

22. Tales of Yajikita College
The story is about of couple of girls who make it their business to investigate corruption inside educational institutions. They have defended themselves against a wide range of enemies. Anything from the Yakuza to Ninjas could be involved. Good thing they are excellent fighters.
Shinokita Reiko is a Kendo Expert, while her partner Yajima Junko is a martial artist. The duo is excellent at self-defense and has proved time and time that these two are not to be trifled with. However, the business they are in is extremely risky.
Junko and Reiko are asked by the Chairman of the Murasame Academy to investigate his Academy. The duo promptly make it to the institution. However, the Student Body President is less than welcoming to their presence. Later that day, they are attacked by Ninjas.
Their friend Kakuunsai Kotetsu comes to their aid. Kotetsu is a Kouga Ninja and has often helped the duo with their investigations. Turns out Junko and Reiko were not the targets of the attack, but the owner of the house is the Chairman.

The ninja has been a staple of Japanese culture for centuries. Everything changed after World War II. After the Asia-Pacific War, the GHQ dismantled what was left of The Ninja. This forced the remaining ninjas to go into hiding. They still continue to do so to this day.
Even though they were forced into other occupations, they stayed true to the ways of The Ninja. The Ninjas closer to the upper echelon still has their hands even in international dealings. Staying in the dark and pulling the strings is their signature move, after all.

26. Guardian Ninja Mamoru!
The story is about two families whose fates have been intertwined since several hundred years ago. The Kagemori Family and the Konnyaku family have been on each other side for generations. And by each other side, I mean literally. They are neighbors, after all.
The Kagemoris are a family of ninjas who has been protecting the Konnyakus for over 400 years now. However, this story is focused on the daughter of the Konnyaku Household, Yuna Konnyaku. Kagemori Mamoru is the one in charge of protecting her.

27. Ninja Gaiden
Based on the Video Game Series of the same name, the OVA supposedly takes place after the events of the Second Ninja Gaiden Game, Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos. The same follows the life of Dragon Ninja Ryu Hayabusa in his quest to avenge the death of his father.
Hayabusa, while making his way back to his home in New York, is attacked by several assassins. But little did they know it would take a lot more to take out the Dragon Ninja. On further investigation, he finds out the one who sent the assassins was Dr. Ned Friedman.
The same person who has supposedly gathered a press meeting to announce that he has come up with a cure for Cancer. However, he refuses to escalate anything further on the topic. Not at all suspicious. Ryu decides to take matters into his own hands and goes to Dr. Friedman’s residence.
There he crosses paths with Sarah, who was there for the same reason. They hear a faint sound of a young child calling out for help and going in to check things out. It is revealed that Dr. Friedman is not as innocent as he seems. He appears to be experimenting on humans without their consent.

With a mixture of propaganda and corruption, the imperial army painted the Ninku as villains and blamed them for the war. But in reality, it was the other way around. The story focuses on one such Ninku Ninja, Fusuke. At first look, Fusuke might look like a child.
But in reality, he is the former first-division captain of the Ninku Order and the master of the wind. Fusuke lost his mother at a very young age and is now looking for her. His proves more difficult day by day as the Ninku is constantly hunted by those who want to steal their powers.

Taking place in Feudal Japan in the midst of Civil Wars, the story is about three ninjas who are trying to uphold the peace. This was a tumultuous time in Japan’s History. During a time when it’s Kill or be Killed, there are three ninjas who are trying their best to uphold the law. They might be the only ones trying to be lawful in these lawless times. They are Akakage, Aokage, and Shirokage. They spend their time fighting all manner of evil.
Known as the Red Shadow, Akakage is a Ninja who dons and Red and Black ninja suit with a unique red mask. He is one of the best swordsmen of his time, able to defeat any foe, be it other ninjas or even mythical beasts. If you dare the peace, Akakage will surely be there to stop you.

32. Blood Reign: Curse of the Yoma
The country has been plagued with war. The fields that once used to be soo full of life and vegetation now lay barren. The pools of fresh water that quenched many a wary traveler’s thirst are now replaced with pools of blood. Humanity is at one of its lowest points yet.
We see the soldiers who survived the battle collecting the weapons which once belonged to their brothers and sisters in arms. The Takeda Clan of Ninjas has suffered severe casualties. Two surviving members of the battle, Hikage and Marou are shown looking at the aftermath.
Marou, in a moment of insanity, tries to attack Hikage but promptly returns back to normal. The duo chalks it up to stress or something. Little did they know, the issue was something else together. This may very well be the beginning of the end for them.
The next day Hikage wakes up to find out Marou has deserted and has to be taken care of immediately. Hikage is assigned this mission, and he sets out looking for his friend. What he finds out shocks him to his core. Marou has become a Yoma. A bloodthirsty being from the depths of hell.

The story is about a princess’s quest for revenge against the one who slaughtered her family and stole one of her father’s most prized possessions. The princess was almost always near puppets. Her family was known for their puppets, especially her father.

34. Brave 10
Taking place during the Warring States period in Japanese History, the story is about a masterless ninja who finds his purpose in life in a young shrine maiden. She comes across the ninja as she is fleeing from her temple, which was under attack by Tokugawa Ieyasu.
Isanami is the only survivor of that onslaught. She was instructed by the head priest to seek out Sanada Yukimura, a Lord. Kirigakure Saizo, who just so happens to be passing by, saves her life. And in exchange for a bowl of Soba Noodles, he agrees to take her to where she needs to be.
However, Yukimura refused to get involved as Tokugawa Ieyasu was too powerful even for him. Now that there is nothing left for them to do, Saizo leaves, and Isanami tags along with her. The duo almost fell into a trap, but Saizo was able to fight them off.
Midst battle, something happens to Isanami, and she becomes engulfed in this dark demonic energy. This energy destroyed all those who were trying to harm her. Witnessing this, Yukimura relents and extends his services to the former shrine maiden.

35. Katanagatari
Taking place during Edo-era Japan, the story is about a guy who has an interesting take on being a swordsman. He is a swordsman through and through. However, he does not use one in combat. He prefers hand-to-hand bare-knuckle fighting.
One day he is approached by Togame at his island residence. She wants to collect the 12 legendary swords made by the infamous Kiki Shikizaki. She wants to complete her collection and give it to the Shogunate. Yasuri Shichika, who lives alone with his elder sister, could care less.
He gives in eventually. Don’t know whether to consider what happened next as Good Luck or Bad, but a Ninja carrying one of these legendary swords attacked them. Shichika quickly dispatches him and takes the sword, thus starting their journey to collect them all.

36. Ninjala: Ninja Gum is Born
The OVA was designed to be a sort of introduction to the lore of the online multiplayer game ninja. The year is now 2020, and the World Ninja Association is hard at work trying to synthesize a working sample of Ninja-Gum even though they ended up destroying the lab.
Ninja-Gum has the ability to activate latent ninja genes in its subjects. Known as the Power of Shinobi, they are passed down from generation to generation from the great ninjas of the past. The gum will activate it, granting the user full disposal of their ancestor’s abilities.
Once ingested, the gum pairs with the user’s DNA. The gum can be used to create weapons and can be used defensively as well. The only known side effect is that after consumption, the person turns back into their preteen years. But if you are already a preteen, then nothing happens.
The researchers who made all this possible are Burton, Berecca, and Ron. However, Ron is revealed to be a double agent and tries to try to assassinate Burton. However, Burton quickly dispatches Ron using the Ninja Gum, much to everyone’s surprise.

The story is about a young ninja in training and the shenanigans she is responsible for causing, all in the name of training. Off the bat, the protagonist has a very long way to go before being considered a decent ninja. She works very hard, yes, but in terms of natural ability, she has none, whichleads to her training to conclude in comedic instances.
On the other hand, there is Kaede. She is a regular girl working on her studies and preparing for her upcoming exams. On one such day, Shinobu, the ninja girl, is given a test. She is retrieving an item.
The said item is one of Kaede’s undergarments. Shinobu has no chance but to comply if she does not want to fail the exam. With newfound confidence, Shinobu breaks into Kaede’s residence and is immediately noticed by her. Still, Shinobu still tries to go through with her mission.

Kenichi Mitsuba is an average child and not very academically inclined. He always finds himself struggling with most things. Always wants to find an easy way out rather than putting in the hard work. This directly leads to his downfall, and Kenichi has to rely on Hattori to bail him out.
The antagonist of the series is Kemumaki, who is also a ninja. However, he seems to be very insistent on keeping the fact that he is a ninja a secret. Kemumaki, along with his pet cat, always makes trouble for Kenichi and Hattori. But as always, Hattori ends up with the upper hand.
Even though Kenichi and Hattori are best of friends, there are times a small misunderstanding gets blown way out of proportion. More times than most, Kemumaki has a hand in causing the fight. However, by the end of the episode, they always make up.

His mother could do nothing but mourn her child. However, Fate had other plans for young Fujimaru. A traveling Samurai name Sasuke spots the eagle with a child in between his talon and decides to save him. After which, Sasuke made him his disciple.

The story is about three ninjas who possess the Mystical Demon Blades. The only thing that has a chance against Nobunaga’s evil forces. According to an ancient prophecy, at least. The three ninjas are Ayanosuke Hayami, Sakon Hayate, and Ryoma Kogure.
Ayanosuke’s demon sword is in the form of a Kodachi Short Sword, Sakon’s demon sword is a Katana, and Ryoma’s demons world is a halberd. Ayanosuke, Sakon, and Ryoma are the last surviving members of their village after it was attacked by Oda Nobunaga.
Hayami was the one who set out to find other demon swords. She finds the other two survivors and convinces them to join her cause. Even though they were able to stop Nobunaa’s evil forces, they could not enjoy it. Ayanosuke was the only one to survive the final battle.
