Posting this because the Amazon deal earlier was unpublished now republished, so here's another way to save on this excellent grinder.
Local stock costs more or less $990.
Don't forget to mention that it should come with an AU plug.
Happy brewing! ☕️

Shame the previous post was removed, there were some good comments there comparing and contrasting it with Niche Zero.

Now republished as we've been able to confirm with company that their Amazon store is in fact is there own.

There were a few interesting questions regarding different varieties in the previous deal.
Could someone please clarify:- Does the Amazon one come with AU plug?
- Does the DF64 shop one come with an AU plug if you select the 240V version?
I don't think I care much about the DLC burrs, so the Amazon version would be fine for me if it had the proper cords.. also never had any warranty issues dealing with Amazon.
Local stock seems way overpriced in comparison.mckellad1 on 02/08/2024 - 11:38
Yeah, looking for these answers also.
clipperroo on 02/08/2024 - 11:45
Yes you need to mention in your order that it should come with an AU plug

having purchased the DF83v2 with stainless steel burrs and then purchasing the DF83v with DLC burrs I would honestly recommend going for the DLCs. Small added cost but a great improvement on taste when comparing them side by side. Not sure how much of that is due to the DF83v being a different grinder altogether, but thres definitely a significant improvement in my experience.
I assume the same would apply for the 64mm variants.
And yes, both came with AU plug when asking for AU plug in comment section of the purchase order.
Dcseah on 02/08/2024 - 12:35
This! I have a DF64V and one of the deciding factors to get it over the DF64V, apart from variable speed was the inclusion of DLC burrs. Many forums have posts saying that DLC burrs make a difference to the cup taste.

FYI feedback from DF64 Amazon Store:
If your delivery address is Australia, you will receive Australia Plug.
If your delivery address is Europe, you will receive Europe Plug. (Except Ireland)
If your delivery address is United Kingdom, you will receive UK Plug.
All models are 220-240V and 50-60Hzredrich2000 on 03/08/2024 - 08:57
My understanding is you have to request AU plug and it can mean it takes longer to ship. I bought a DF64v 220v and it came with a UK plug. I've had problems using a converter though.
Cevolution on 02/08/2024 - 11:37
Where did the thread for this go that was posted this morning on Amazon for $580, it seems to have disappeared for me?
GRP on 02/08/2024 - 11:41
Unpublished by mods :)

it does not meet amazon guidelines posting
Cevolution on 02/08/2024 - 11:50
@HolyCr4p: I don’t know what that means? I just want to know whether there was an issue with the product for the Amazon listing to be pulled? Does it not meet Australian standards, i.e. another countries plug, what exactly?
Kaise on 02/08/2024 - 12:06
@Cevolution: The seller didn't have enough feedback as per the posting guidelines. They had one 5-star review
Cevolution on 02/08/2024 - 12:11
@Kaise: I see. The seller is listed as the actual manufacturer on Amazon.au, is this false? If they’re the company that makes them then surely that should be enough to meet the guidelines.
bilbies on 02/08/2024 - 12:53
@Cevolution: tbomk, df64coffee is not the manufacturer - they're a distributor.
Cevolution on 02/08/2024 - 13:02
@bilbies: Sorry, I appreciate the correction. I have sent a message to df64coffee on Amazon.au to clarify and confirm whether their listing is the AU model and comes a 220-240V AU plug.
Moderatorneil on 02/08/2024 - 13:07
@Cevolution: The problem was whether they were the company or whether it was some dodgy seller pretending to be. Happens often.
Cevolution on 02/08/2024 - 13:11
@neil: Thank you for replying and clarifying this Neil. Were you able to confirm whether it’s the legitimate distributor?

Appreciate my cheap Breville grinder but I am over the unpredictability of the dose.
I went immediately to the earlier $580.00 Amazon thread but it was gone by the time I got there.
I am not going to pay AU$1K for a grinder..

If I add in SSP espresso burr it is at just under $1K shipped.
Do I need fancy burrs for my daily espresso?
Junglegreen on 02/08/2024 - 12:10

Depends how you like your espresso/coffee
ozlurker on 02/08/2024 - 12:56
Do you do straight espresso or with milk? What beans do you use? I think the jump to DLC is worth the price, after that you get diminishing returns.
GRP on 02/08/2024 - 14:09
Straight long double.
Beans are nothing fancy - Coffex Superbar.
Just after the same grind consistently day day after day.
ozlurker on 02/08/2024 - 14:48
Any burrs would give you grind consistency with this grinder, I would recommend going with the DLC and if you want to try SSP in the future you could look for a 2nd hand set.
redrich2000 on 03/08/2024 - 09:02

You need to be very experienced, have a great palate and be in control of all other variables to really pick a difference between burrs.
I just upgraded my DF64v from DLC to SSP LS. It improves the sound considerably, no more screeching. Taste wise, jury is still out.

0.242 volts per dollar must be offensive for some reason. Unless it's the fact we're now technically on 230V to match (most of) Europe.

I bought DF64V (220-240v) from these guys about 1 year ago. It is about $200 bucks cheaper than Alternative Brewing. Overall, it is a decent budget version vs Option O Langom P64. The only part I had to do was cutting cord and replace it with AUS plug. It is shipped from Singapore. It has been similar price when I bought it about 1 year ago though.
Jayphen on 02/08/2024 - 12:34
I don’t see anywhere in checkout to leave a comment for an AU plug. Maybe it comes after the “pay now” button? I’m afraid to press it
Edit: found it in the shopping cart slide over, there is an invisible text area (at least it is invisible on iOS Safari)
bilbies on 02/08/2024 - 12:55
If you have specific requests, you need to send them an email which is in theirs 'contact' section (mention or forward to them your order #).
redrich2000 on 03/08/2024 - 09:04
There is a notes space when you add it to your cart. It's hard to see. I always also immediately reply to the order confirmation email to confirm they got the note. They usually reply quickly.
BTW I bought burrs from them this week. Took 53 hours from order to delivered.

Get df54 - imo, a better grinder and in the cup very similar to df64, especially if you drink milk based coffees.

Keep in mind that df64coffee price in AUD is not what you'll be charged on your credit card because it's charged in USD and different credit card use different exchange rates plus majority charge an International transaction fee, even on AUD transactions if made to an overseas retailer.

I have the DF54 - slightly smaller. But so far (only had a for a short time), it seems fantastic for the price. DF64 at this price is a steal.
Mentok on 02/08/2024 - 17:55
Is anyone able to give a rundown of the burrs, and their suitability for different types of beans / brew? I'm a light espresso and filter drinker, would like a grinder that does both well, if that's possible. Upgrading from an old Compac K6 and a Lido hand grinder
redrich2000 on 03/08/2024 - 09:06
Get the red speed V3 SSP Lab Sweet burrs. I researched this for months and that's where I landed.
0zGainer on 02/08/2024 - 20:23
I was heavily researching coffee grinders and the amazon deal popped up at the right time!
FYI, the seller mentioned the below in my chat with them, maybe Op can update the deal description.
"If your delivery address is Australia, you will receive Australia Plug.
If your delivery address is Europe, you will receive Europe Plug. (Except Ireland)
If your delivery address is United Kingdom, you will receive UK Plug.
All models are 220-240V and 50-60Hz"Side note: i would prefer a white one but ordered the Amazon one which is black only, if anyone would like to do a quick swap in Melbourne 😀

How does this compare to a Breville smart grinder pro?
16k-zx81 on 04/08/2024 - 14:38
It's a different league all together.
ExPrinceHairy on 03/08/2024 - 07:32
Will this suit a 51mm dosing cup or portafilter?
0zGainer on 03/08/2024 - 17:46
51mm? 54mm is the usual small size otherwise the commercial standard 58mm. From youtube reviews, the grinder comes with an aluminium dosing cup and an attachment that would fit on top of 58mm portafilter.

Thanks for sharing this deal. "Local stock costs more or less $990" - it's disgraceful how much we get ripped off in this country. Your deal is 40% less off a relatively high value but smallish item.
Abraxsas on 03/08/2024 - 16:37
This or the Niche Zero…?
0zGainer on 03/08/2024 - 17:50

Based on reviews, I'd go Niche zero if you dont mind the paying the extra 300-400 and you would get a grinder which has proven itself for much longer than and is more silent to run with small safety features.
Personally, I still thought this was good value and went for this deal.
Full disclosure: This perspective is based on youtube reviews only, I've used neither grinders yet!
Abraxsas on 05/08/2024 - 08:13
After adding the upgraded Burrs to this deal the Price works out pretty much the same $950~ So i guess it really a matter of Conical Vs Flat Burrs…I really just want consistency and minimal retention for medium to dark roasts…Aesthetically the Niche Zero is more appealing to me but as far as reviews go i'm still undecided but either would be an upgrade from the stock Breville grinder i'm currently using so i know i won't be disappointed with either choice. This is hobby not a necessity and i know with any hobby the rabbit holes are never ending lol
juicejuice on 05/08/2024 - 08:19

Sorry to say but we upgraded from our entry level grinder to DF54 a few months ago and the difference is remarkable. It was money well spent, around $450 from memory. The DF64v2 in this deal is technically an upgrade and at this price is a "steal" in the world of hobby coffee enthusiasts :D
ryderdt5 on 05/08/2024 - 08:31
My opinion is you'd be better with a manual hand grinder for conical burrs cause it's easy anyways for single doasing. The DF64 is amazing for price here and flat burrs that it gives you a nice blend, for the price of this and a hand grinder you'd still be cheaper than a niche and get best of both worlds.
