firefight. first of all, it's dry, hot and windy on top of all of that. looking outside at the golden gate bridge. no evidence of fog in the least bit out there. winds are coming straight out of the north and west and will escalate, especially for the inland east bay and northeastern part of the bay area towards the afternoon 20 to 30 miles per hour. gusts. that's why we do have red flag warnings in portions of napa solano as well colusa and lake counties until 08:00pm tonight winds will at their breezy us this afternoon and humidity also at the lowest along with our warmest of temperatures, 40's to 50's for current temps. a nice calm morning. before we get to a warm and breezy rest of the day, 70's to 80's for your highs today. michael. >> thanks, john. good morning, everyone. it is 701. happy monday. taking a live look right now at your roads. for the most part, everything is pretty good. but there are some small delays in collisions. take a look over in the south bay right now. we've got a ramp that is closed eastbound to 37 over to

the south 8.80, in milpitas at connector ramp completely blocked off. it's been like that for about 20 minutes or so. so keep that in mind. if you're heading out and then for a lot of you in the east bay right now, there's a traffic collision on westbound 80. it's at the bay bridge near the toll plaza. looks like there's only one or 2 lanes that are affected right now. so hopefully doesn't cause too much delay. but taking a live look right now at the bay bridge, you can see it's only a 14 minute commute into the city. so we're not seeing too many residual delays from that. and hopefully they will clear that up soon. a live look at the san mateo bridge, 15 minute commute on to the peninsula. a live look at the richmond. sandra fell bridge. it's 14 minutes there. and lastly, that golden gate bridge. look at that beautiful shot. 21 minutes into the city. dorian james, i will send it back to you. all right. thanks a lot, michael. and as we want continue our team coverage, we want to give you the biggest fire that's burning now in sonoma county. yeah, this is the fire that's grown to more than 1000 acres in size. it's prompted evacuation orders. >> for some kron four's will tran following it all up in

healdsburg. joining us now live will. >> we have some bad news to pass along. we understand that is going to get worse before it gets better. it is breezy at this location and that breeze could push the fire to other locations. you can see people showing up right now in the chp officers are walking up to this lady making sure that unless she lives up at this locations, she is not allowed to go any further. we have seen them turn away workers who want to go back up there to grab their tools in case the fire spreads to this location and destroys their tools. but they say no, unless you have a reason to be here, meaning your home and they are allowing people to go in and grab their things and then tell him to leave this location. you're not allowed to go further. james dairy a look at the horizon. it's you can't smell it. obviously at home. but i can tell you it smells so smoky at this location. there is a big haze

on the horizon. 19 miles away in santa rosa. when we were driving up here, we could smell the fire. now, let me show you video of the fire broke out yesterday afternoon. latest numbers, 20% contained 1100 acres burned. some houses destroyed. fortunately, no injuries when it started as a vegetation, fire was only a couple of dozen acres or so quickly exploded because of the dry terrain. not to mention the windy conditions that day had to attack it from above. and then it grew and grew and coming into the overnight hours, it was 15% contained. fortunately, they were able to add a little bit to it. now being 20. but as far as the fight, they expect things to get worse before it gets better. so many people had to be evacuated. if go back out live right now, this appears to me maybe a lady who lives here based because you can clearly see she's with her fur baby. she's talking to the

chp officers. a lot of people showing up thinking, can i at least grab my equipment? can i least check things out? but right now the answer is no, because look at that. james darya more officers are coming to the scene and those cars that you see to the right of your screen. there are workers coming up to the vineyards and of course, because they don't live here. the answer is no, they cannot go any further. and it appears that lady has been able to convince the chp officers that, in fact, she does live here because you can clearly see she is allowed to go through. back to yeah. they don't want anybody in there who shouldn't be. and, you know, when they give a warning or an order really good. yeah, he did. nothing is worth now let's take a closer look at what's happening across the state because as we've got that fire. >> and were heading to the warmer weather. it's summer this week in sacramento, crews are battling a big brush fire and this one is threatening homes and forcing evacuations. it's called the excelsior

fire. so far it's burned about 900 acres in south sacramento. nobody has been hurt, but there have been some out buildings damage. the sacramento regional strike team. actually, the sect team was headed to los angeles to help there, but they were called back to stay in the area. meantime, strike teams from placer county and yolo county and los angeles are this morning helping with the post fire and this one started saturday night near highway 5 in gorman. this is in los angeles county, northern la county. it has exploded to more than 14 1000 acres. look at how tiny that shopper looks compared to this. you know, see, it looks like that, know, the world is on fire is a big was the biggest one we've got burning right now in the state. crews say it is burning out of control, unfortunately, too percent contained. so there is a lot of work to do there. meantime, farther east in san bernardino county, these are pictures of the hysteria fire. it is burned more than 1100 acres. it's

near highway one. 73. and this is prompted not orders but just warnings. so those people who live near this one are being told to be ready. it's just an evacuation warning at this point. they don't know how this brush fire started. but with the winds, they know that that's the reason it's quickly moving north. >> in the south bay, there was a grass fire that burned about 19 acres in san jose on sunday. now, luckily that's now 100% contained. so they got that one stepped up pretty quick, but fire crews had to stop that fire from spreading near san felipe and las animas roads. no buildings were damaged. thankfully, meanwhile, 3 buildings were affected by fire in san francisco. firefighters say that fire was between the walls of the building and we actually have some video from the citizen app showing the response this was yesterday on the 800 block of kearney and columbus right there at the stern school in the financial district. firefighters say nobody was hurt. nobody displaced. that school is not in session at the time. as for

a cause of the fire at this point, firefighters are leading towards accidental. we'll keep you updated. >> it's 707. and in the east bay, a police shooting center, a carjacker to a hospital in fremont. officers responded to a carjacking in what's happening here at this walmart parking lot on osgood road yesterday morning. police ended up stopping a man who matched the description of the carjacker on auto mall parkway and they say he was holding a knife when one of the officers shot him. >> immediately upon being hit, the officers rendered first aid to the individual. he was subsequently transported to an area hospital to receive medical treatment. and he is currently there. we believed him to be in stable condition. >> and the plan is that when he has recovered, then he will be charged >> stanford university graduate organized a mass walkout at their own graduation ceremony. all to protest the ongoing war in gaza. a kron 4 viewer sent us

coastline. in fact, skies today are going to stay that way because we're not looking at an onshore breeze, but rather a generous northwesterly wind moving its way in directly from the north coast. now that is resulting in the heightened fire danger. red-flag warnings for solano county inland portions of napa county as well as lake and mendocino counties too. these extended through 08:00pm tonight and humidity this afternoon, especially falling as low as 10%. some really dry air winds will accelerate, especially out towards the delta into the afternoon 20 to 30 miles per hour. gusts out that way. and that's where all our metrics out up to that high fire danger at its greatest again for inland napa, solano and colusa counties as well. some heightened fire danger for the inland east bay, too. now air quality is fortunately. all right. across the region, most of us are still hanging on to good conditions. if you notice a little bit of haze out there, really because of that high pressure ridge temperatures today are in the 60's to 70's for san francisco

60's out along the coastline that a lot of 70's to 80's elsewhere. burlingame, at 75 today, redwood 80 degrees while the south bay looking at daytime highs. also in the low 80's, some of our warmest spots will actually be the inland. the east bay today with concord up to 87 degrees, oakland and berkeley, warm afternoon at 78 in vacaville fairfield, down to pittsburgh in antioch, each 86 tomorrow. daytime highs around the same as today's same for your last day of spring on wednesday. now, thursday, summer solstice temperatures will begin to warm. and the start to the new season is looking hot with daytime highs in wind friday, saturday and sunday. all in the 90's. michael thomas is in with us this morning. what's the latest on the roads out there? hey, good morning, everyine. well, the latest is looking good, but of course, there's always some small delays. we've got a lot of traffic area to cover. taking a look right now over in the south bay. you can see. >> there's a traffic heather hazard on southbound 6.80, that ramp to 2.80, north is currently closed off and then

over in the south in your milpitas area, actually, there's a ramp that's completely closed. there's also a traffic collision. it's eastbound to 37 ramp to the southbound 8.80, that has been closed for at least the last 45 minutes or so. and over in the east bay, specifically right there in that bay bridge. there is a traffic collision right at the toll ppplaza. so there are some lane that are affected. but taking a live look at the bay bridge you can see right now, nothing too bad. it's 15 minutes to get over it one to pass up that stop and go traffic there at the toll plaza. those metering lights are on. some look at traffic times. taking a look right now. livermore to dublin, 13 minutes, dublin to fremont 18 minutes. stanley and erdem lp 32 minutes in milpitas to sunnyvale. 8 minute commute over in the antioch area. if you're heading to concord, it's going to take 27 minutes right now. we've got that normal congestion that we see every day you're using westbound 80 from crockett to the maze. it's a 23 minute commute. there. taking a look at southbound 8.80, oakland, 2 to

charges. livermore. police are warning that there's a nationwide scam that has happened to some people in our area. now and they've given thousands of dollars to scammers. here's what happened starts to the pop-up screen on your computer. and it says there are some unusual activity on your account and they give you a number to call for support. then you call that number and the scammer says computer and your social security number have been compromised and there they impersonate a government official and they advise you to send. are you ready for this wire? the money? send a gift card. or here's a new one. saint gold bars. that's not legitimate. government official would never do that. you never sent anybody gold bars or gift cards. if you want to file a complaint, they tell you that you should visit and internet crime complaint site that is >> for the city of san jose now moving forward with removing homeless encampment, trash from going into

there. so if you're using that bridge, put that into your drive time this morning. lastly, there is an accident on the bay bridge right at the toll plaza. so i'll give you a quick live look at the bay bridge right now. you see it's an 18 minute commute into the city from the maze. and lastly, a live look at the richmond. sandra fell bridge. it's 25 minute commute there you can see it's kind of stop and go traffic because of that accident. so i will send you over to james and darya now for the all right. thank you. michel catches up with you later and gets more updates right now. we want to continue our team coverage of the fires. >> so the biggest fire, it's called the point fire. and it's in sonoma really driven by the wind. it's now grown to more than 1000 acres in size. it to the area of stewarts point skaggs spring road right near lake sonoma. >> this is actually time lapse footage that fire first started. you kind of see some of that smoke beginning to build right along the ground level. there at last word. cal fire says this fire is now roughly 15% contained early yesterday. plumes of smoke could be seen for miles around as it continued to grow.

grandmother. you hong kong was walking at the park formally named visitation valley playground when she was brutally beaten in 2019. the 89 year-old died from her injuries a year later, it was a place of tragic loss. my grandmother, huang was attacked here. san francisco police arrested 18 year-old keon to gather and for the attack. he says while they continue to wait for a trial, this is a step in getting closure. we feel a sense of and healing because the trial has been delayed and it's been over 5 years. we still have >> the closed the case. and so this is victory for people. you worked with city leaders to rename the park. >> turning the pain of losing her grandmother into something positive for the community. people can experience joy and peace and harmony now years

francisco's mission district. police are still searching right now for that shooter. it happened in an alley on why street right near the bart 16th street location happened 4 o'clock saturday morning. the victim was taken to the hospital where they later died. anyone with information on what happened is asked to contact san francisco police 7.35. right now and san bruno police have arrested a 17 year-old boy for threatening to kill a man of middle eastern descent. >> the man was praying outside and he was threatened with. take a look at this knife in a shopping center. it was in the parking lot on el camino, real. and the teenage boy who is also of middle eastern descent, fairly approached them animated, drive a tree comment and then officers ended of tracking down the boy and he is now being charged with committing a hate crime. in the east bay residents public parks workers are concerned about a delay and collecting the money needed to make repairs and upgrades security to protect public spaces from crimes that have
