What GPA do you need for Phi Kappa PSI? ›

Fraternity & Sorority Life is 150 years old to Spartan Nation. 13% of our undergraduate students are members of a Greek lettered organization, and over 4,800 students make up the fraternity and sorority community at Michigan State University.

We currently have 61 chapters that are a part of four governing councils including the Interfraternity Council, Multicultural Greek Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the Panhellenic Council.

Highly Selective Membership

Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is a stamp of excellence offered to the top 7.5% of second-semester juniors and top 10% of seniors and graduate students.

Here are the Phi Beta Kappa qualifications: Junior or senior standing. GPA of at least 3.7 for seniors or 3.9 for juniors. Pass a college-level pre-calculus course.

Our community has grown to over 5,500 students within 4 councils. The Interfraternity Council (IFC), the Multicultural Greek Council (MGC), the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Panhellenic Association (Panhel) pride themselves on individuality, while recognizing common values and principles.

Once assembled, as chronicled in The Michigan Daily, Schlissel delivered a stern message to the Greek life participants, who represent 22 percent of the student population on campus—nearly 6,000 undergraduates.

You aren't typically required to live in the fraternity house, so you may not have to pay housing costs, but these costs are often cheaper than living in on-campus dormitories. Aside from these fees, there are also the incidental costs of joining a fraternity.

Is frat life worth it? ›

If you're more reserved or plan on having a busy schedule, the obligations of Greek life might overwhelm you. However, if you're outgoing and attracted to the sense of camaraderie that comes with Greek life, joining a fraternity or sorority can benefit your time in college and beyond.

Living in a Greek house is not usually a requirement, but just like living in the regular dorms adds to your college experience, so does living with your other fraternity or sorority members. Housing costs are going to run up your bill substantially. You'll face costs of anywhere between $1,000 to $7,000 per semester.

With more than 60 Greek letter organizations, “going Greek” can be one of the most significant experiences for a college student at MSU.

Continuously active since 1845, Chi Psi is the oldest fraternity, and the oldest student organization, at the University of Michigan. Chi Psi is credited with building the first fraternity house in the United States.

Currently, the largest fraternity by number of members is Sigma Alpha Epsilon. You can also rank frats by the number of active chapters across college campuses. Tau Kappa Epsilon holds this distinction with 290 chapters in colleges and universities.

Description and Eligibility: Phi Kappa Phi (PKP) is a national honor society for undergraduate and graduate students (https://www.phikappaphi.org/). To be eligible for membership, graduate students must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and be in the upper 10% of their class.

Maintain a Cumulative or Semester GPA of at least 2.7. Sign the Commitment to Academic Excellence, identifying a goal GPA for the semester. Abide by the Academic Integrity/Honor Code of [COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY], which states: [TEXT FROM COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY ACADEMIC INTEGRITY/HONOR CODE].

To become a member of Phi Kappa Phi, one must meet certain requirements. These include being in the top 10% of their class, having completed at least 72 credit hours of coursework, and maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.5. Additionally, students must be invited to join by their university's chapter of Phi Kappa Phi.

The KA standard is a 3.0 overall chapter GPA. A chapter will be placed on social probation for making below a 2.8 GPA. Make sure you are aware and up to date on Kappa Alpha Order's scholarship standards.
