This dip was created for the famous Blooming Onion and if you know, you know. But you can actually make it just as delicious in your own kitchen and pair it with these Crispy Fried Onion Strings, Sweet Potato Fries, or even these Oven Roasted Potato Wedges.
Can we all agree that the Blooming Onion from Outback Steakhouse is one of the best recipes out there when it comes to appetizers and finger foods? I mean, fried onions are already delicious, but then to pair them with the most delicious sauce that you can continue to eat with your entree?
Let’s just say this is a must-make sauce recipe that everyone is going to love. Keep this recipe handy to enjoy whenever you’d like, and most importantly, in your own kitchen.
Why this recipe works
- You can serve it as an appetizer or with your main dish or both. You can even whip up a large batch and just have it ready in the fridge as a go-to condiment and be extra loved for it.
- The ingredients are so simple that you might even have everything on hand already and it takes no time at all. This is definitely a recipe you’ll want to keep close by for any season.
- It’s a one-bowl recipe for easy prep and clean-up afterwards.
What You’ll Need
- Mayonnaise: I really recommend using real mayo for the best taste and creamy results. You might be able to get away with swapping out half of the mayo for Greek yogurt for a healthier version, but I haven’t tried it yet.
- Creamy prepared horseradish: Horseradish give this sauce that delicious kick that we all love.
- Spices: The spices you’ll use are smoked paprika, salt, garlic powder, dried oregano, black pepper, and cayenne.
How to Make Blooming Onion Sauce
Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and whisk well. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
It really is just that easy!
