Kingsport Times-News Monday, Deaths William J. Coomer William Jennings Coomer, 62, 512 Light Kingsport, died Sunday evening (Feb. 1, 1987) at Indian Path Hospital following an extended illness. Born in Lee County, he had resided in Kingsport for the past 25 years and was a veteran of World War serving in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Lula Durham Coomer, Kingsport; two daughters, Mrs. Sandy Thorpe, Kingsport and Mrs. Ramona 1 Claman, Forest, one son, William Larry Coomer, Church Hill; five grandchildren; his mother, Vonda Coomer, California; a sister, Mrs. Madeline Douglas, Colorado; six brothers, Coomer, California, Curtis Coomer, South Carolina, Wayne Coomer, Washington, Sam Coomer, New Mexico, Harry Coomer, Louisiana and Jack Coomer, Kingsport; several nieces and nephews.

Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Hamlett-Dobson Funeral Home (downtown chapel). Leonard W. Goss Leonard W. Goss, 87, of 3416 6 Lake Shore Kingsport, formerly of Rome, died at 11:15 a.m. Sunday (Feb.

1, 1987) in the Holston Valley Hospital Medical Center after a brief illness. A native of Cherokee County, he spent his youth in Texas and returned to Georgia where he had lived most of his life. He resided in Little Rock, Ark. from 1979 until 1983 when he moved to Kingsport. Mr.

Goss was a general agent for the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company and was a member of the North Broad Baptist Church where he had served for a number of years as a deacon and had held many other offices. He was also an honored lifetime member of Civitan. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude Ford Goss; one son, James Vernon Goss; one sister and three brothers. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Donald C.

(Frances) Rains, Indianapolis, Mrs. Harry D. (Carolyn) Trulove, Little Rock, Ark. and Mrs. John G.

(Charlotte) Thweatt, Kingsport; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Paul (Velma) Hogan, Adarisville, one brother, Amos Goss, Cedar Bluff, Ala. Calling hours are from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the North Braod Baptist Church in Rome, Ga. where services will be conducted at 11 a.m.

with Dr. Robert Moon and the Rev. J. Howard Holcomb officiating. Burial will be in East View Cemetery in Rome, Ga.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the North Broad Baptist Foundation, 1309 North Broad Rome, Ga. 30161 or to the Arkansas Baptist Foundation, P.O. Box 552, Little Rock, Ark. 72203. The Jennings Funeral Home in Rome, will be in charge of arrangements.

Hamlett-Dobson is in charge of local arrangements. Kate Elizabeth Hart Mrs. Kate Elizabeth France Hart, 82, of 1323 Frank Kingsport, died at Holston Valley Hospital Medical Center early Saturday afternoon (Jan. 31, 1987). Mrs.

Hart was a native of Scott County, and was of the Holiness faith. She was preceded in death by her husband Larkin Hart in 1971; a daughter, Edna Andrews, in 1983; a son, Larkin Hart in 1969; and her parents, Melvin and Katherine Dezarn France. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ralph (Myrtle) Westpfahol, Plattmouth, Mrs. Raymond (Rosalee) Poremski, Baltimore, Mrs.

Don (Ruby) Marcum, Dayton, Ohio and Mrs. Elsie Trephon, Kingsport; three sons, William (Bunny) Kingsport, Robert Hart, Columbus, Ohio and Herman Hart, Baltimore, 16 grandchildren; 17 greatgrandchildren; one great-greatgrandchild; three step grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Norma and Mrs. Rena Templeton, both of Gate City; five half-sisters, Mrs. Minnie Williams and Mrs.

Rosa Wiliams, both of Gate City, Mr. Doris Spivey and Mrs. Alma Lynch, both of Kingsport, Mrs. Eva Hart, Detroit, five half-brothers, Kenneth France, Willard France, Bascom France and George France, all February 2, 1987 of Gate City, Fred France, Panama City, Fla. Calling hours are from 7 to-9 p.m.

Monday at the Gate City Funeral Home and also anytime at the residence. Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Gene Falin Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Buford Blankenbeckler and the Rev. Ellis Crawford officiating.

Burial will be in Holston View Cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Blanche C. Hartman Blanche Conley Hartman, 83, of Route 5, Jonesborough, Sulfur Springs Community, died Saturday (Jan. 31, 1987) at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a lengthy illness.

A native of Washington County, she was a retired schoolteacher having taught in the Washington County schools for many years and was a member of the Sulfur Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hartman was the daughter of the late Alexander and Malissa Rupe Conley and was also preceded in death by her husband, W.O. Hartman. Surviving are one son, Gene Hartman, Jonesborough; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Dillow-Taylor Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Andrew Greer, the Rev. Bill Gourley and the Rev.

Albert South officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Sulfur Springs Cemetery. Virginia M. Jameson ALEXANDER, La.

Virginia Moore Jameson, 72, 1935 Thornton Court, Alexander, died Sunday (Feb. 1, 1987) after an extended illness. Surviving are one son, Robert (Bob) Jameson, Kingsport and one granddaughter. Kramer Funeral Home, 2905 Masonic Alexander, La. is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Sullivan County, he had lived in Chicago for the past 20 years where he was a Teamster driver and warehouseman. He was a member of the Teamster's Union of Chicago and a member of the Chevrolet Classic.

He was preceded in death by his father, Curtis Jones. Surviving are one daughter, Shelia Evans, Church Hill; one grandson; his mother, Luna Hazel Feathers, Church Hill; one sister, Kathy Arnold, Rogersville. Kinsler SNEEDVILLE Lillie Jane Kinsler, 82, of Route 1, Sneedville, died Saturday evening (Jan. 31, 1987) at the home of her daughter, Ola Belcher. She was a member of Union Hill Primitive Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late James and Myrtle Nichols and was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Milum Kinsler; two sons, John Adrion Kinsler and Milum Kinsler and a daughter, Lizzie Kinsler.

Surviving are four daughters, Ola Belcher, Sneedville, Marcella Wittman, Myrtle Russell and Willidean Nichols, all of Indianapolis, 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Barney Nichols, Arley Nichols and John Nichols, all of Illinois. The body will be taken to the home of her daughter, Ola Belcher, Route 1, Sneedville, at noon Monday where friends may call at their convenience. She was a homemaker and the daughter of the late Martin and Marie Johansen Hansen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lebeau, in 1952. 31, 1987) at her home following an extended illness. Born in Hawkins County, she had resided in the Kingsport area for the past 36 years and was a member of the Beulah Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late John and Lena Mellons Nelms. Surviving are her husband, Hubert McCracken, Kingsport; two daughters, Carolyn McCracken and Kay McCracken Norris, both of Kingsport; two sons, Donley (Don) McCracken, Kingsport and Tommy McCracken, Bristol; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter. Eva Moore, 84, died early Sunday morning (Feb. 1, 1987) at her residence after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of the Blackwater, Va. and Kyle's Ford, Tenn. areas and was a member of Willis Chapel Baptist Church.

31, 1987) in Georgetown, Ohio, after a tractor accident. A lifelong resident of Russell County, he was employed by the Sheehan Pipeline Construction Company and was a farmer. Surviving are one daughter, Linda Sue Porter, Castlewood; two sons, Donald Wayne Porter and Ronald Bruce Porter, both of Castlewood; his mother, Mrs. Virginia Burke Porter, Castlewood; one sister, Mrs. Paul (Hazel) Osborne, Castlewood.

She was a lifelong resident of Clinchport, and was a member of the Clinchport Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Rhoton, in 1975. Surviving are one sister, Eliza Collins, and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours are from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Carter's Chapel Funeral Home. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m.

Tuesday at the Clinchport Freewill Baptist Church with the Rev. Echol Herring officiating. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services to lie in state. Burial will be in the Rhoton family cemetery. Clay McKenzie Rose Clay McKenzie (Ken) Rose 55, 604 Meadow Lane, Colonial Heights, died at 5:20 a.m.

Saturday (Jan. 31, 1987) at the Holston Valley Hospital Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter 'County, he came to Kingsport in 1961. and was a 1953 graduate of the College of Business of the University of Tennessee with a B.S. degree in Business Administration.

He was president and member of the board of directors at Holston Builder's Supply, Inc. of Kingsport. Mr. Rose was an active member and deacon of the Colonial Heights Baptist Church having served as church treasurer and chairman of the finance committee. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Heritage Federal Savings Loan Association, the board of directors of the Holston Valley Hospital Medical Center Health Care, Inc.

and of the board of directors of the Greater Kingsport Chamber of Commerce. He had also served as lieutenant in the U.S. Navy from 1953 to 1956 and was a past president of the National Sash and Door Jobbers Association. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Ogle Rose, Kingsport; one daughter, Laura Elizabeth Rose, Nashville, one son, Frederick McKenzie Rose, Knoxville, his mother, Mrs.

Gladys C. Rose, Greenville, one sister, Mrs. Martha Rose Countzler, Greenville, Ky. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Colonial Heights Baptist Church with the Rev.

Ronald D. Hicks and Dr. Robert Melvin officiating. Burial will be in the Happy Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton, Tenn. The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
